(Asbestos News) - George V., through his asbestos litigation attorneys at Cooney & Conway, filed suit in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois. The complaint states that Mr. V. suffers from lung cancer as a result of exposure to asbestos while he was enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves as a Seaman, 1st Class, from 1951 to 1960. During that time, he served at various U.S. Navy sites, including the Los Alamitos, Calif., Naval Base and the San Diego Naval Base. He was also exposed to asbestos through his employment as a truck driver and mechanic from 1951 to 1979. Mr. V. worked as a mechanic for a Flying J gas station and a Signal gas station from 1951 to 1952.
Additionally, Mr. V. worked as a truck driver from 1955 to 1979, delivering equipment to numerous facilities utilizing asbestos products in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, California, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Washington, Oregon, Louisiana, Idaho, Nevada, and Wyoming. During Mr. V.'s employment as a truck driver, he was exposed to asbestos products at numerous industrial and commercial sites, including: BP West Coast Products f/k/a Arco Oil and Gas Company; Atlantic Richfield Company; Ashland, Inc.; B.F. Goodrich Corporation; Pfizer, Inc.; The Dow Chemical Company; Bridgestone Americas, Inc.; The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company; Kaiser Gypsum Company, Inc.; Beazer East, Inc.; individually and as successor-in-interest to Koppers Company, Inc. & as successor-in-interest to Theim Corporation and Universal Refractories Company; Conopco, Inc.; individually and as successor to Lever Brothers Co.; International Paper Company; Mobil Chemical Company, Inc.; Pharmacia Corporation; The Proctor & Gamble Manufacturing Company; Reichhold, Inc., as successor-in-interest to Reichhold Chemicals Inc.; Reynolds Metals Company; Shell Oil Company; Amoco Oil Company; Texaco, Inc.; Union Carbide Corporation; Union Oil Company of California; Crompton Corporation; Citgo Petroleum Corporation; City Service Oil Company; and United States Steel Corporation.
