On June 2, 2010, Cooney and Conway filed suit on behalf of Miguel R. in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Ill. The complaint states that Mr. R. suffers from mesothelioma as a result of exposure to asbestos while working as a drill operator and maintenance mechanic from 1971 to 1979 in Illinois. Throughout the course of his employment, Mr. R. was exposed to asbestos-containing products while working at jobsites, including Federal Die Casting. Additionally, Mr. R. was exposed to asbestos-containing products while performing automotive repairs and personal home renovation projects in the late 1970s.
